Morbid Angel
Morbid Angel
To see past the secure foundations of convention and into an entirely new state of being demands the strength, conviction and true sense of purpose possessed only by a chosen few. They are the innovators, the leaders, the ones who transcend perceived limitations. In their decade-plus reign as death metal's leading creative force, MORBID ANGEL have consistently succeeded in shattering the musical, spiritual and ideological boundaries of extreme music while unquestionably retaining their core element of brutal and inspirational excellence.

With their seventh offering, the band that shaped an entire genre has re-defined it yet again. 'Gateways To Annihilation' marks the opening of a new door for MORBID ANGEL--a new path and a new state of mind. Musically enveloping itself within the natural rhythms of the universe, the album flows with the enduring spirit of infinite possibility. The luminous virtuosity of guitarist, founder and song writer Trey Azagthoth, the astonishing battery of legendary percussionist Pete Sandoval and devastating bassist/vocalist/song writer Steve Tucker, along with the classically-inspired workmanship of guitarist Erik Rutan, combine to weave sinuous, striking, and dark grooves around timeless truths and questions that have been asked since the dawn of consciousness and shall be asked forever more. Produced by MORBID ANGEL and Jim Morris at Morrisound Studios in Tampa, FL, 'Gateways To Annihilation' will become another indispensable landmark on the heavy metal landscape. The standards have been raised and exceeded, but that is what MORBID ANGEL have done since their inception.
Dying Fetus
Dying Fetus
Dying Fetus is a brutal death metal band formed in 1991 in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, United States.

Dying Fetus's music is a hybrid of death metal and grindcore, characterized by extremely fast blast beats, complex riffing and slow breakdowns. Lyrics-wise, the band dabbled in the usual gory death metal subject matter on their early albums, and respectfully covered "Born in a Casket," a song originally written by famous death metal band Cannibal Corpse. By 2000's Destroy the Opposition, however, they shifted towards politically driven lyrics. Their lyrics are often left-wing, mostly consisting of aggressive critique addressed towards things such as religion, corporations, consumerism and war. Their fusion of death and grind is called Slam.
THE FACELESS
THE FACELESS
The Faceless are a technical metal band from the Los Angeles area who have formed to astonish their live audiences with dizzying guitar work, lightning fast drumming and unmatched brutality. Formed by guitarist Michael Keene and bassist Brandon Giffin, the band quickly found the perfect mix of dedicated musicians to complete the line up.

Drummer Brett Batdorf having played a brief stint with Himsa and long time drummer of the acclaimed Los Angeles death metal band Tchildres complimented the group perfectly and was added to the line up soon after. The combination of blistering guitar work, complex and fast-paced rhythms, offset by haunting keyboards and brutal vocals from singer Jeff Ventimiglia set The Faceless in a class with the metal legends who have come before to change metal forever. The Faceless have developed a large following from their dead accurate live performance and the online success of 3 songs recorded and produced by guitarist Michael Keene. The band has already become a buzz in the metal scene drawing up to 300 kids at local shows. The Faceless is quickly rising to the top in a sea of mediocrity to claim their place in metal virtuosity.

In the past year The Faceless have been lucky enough to share the stage with such talented acts as: Cephalic Carnage, Vital Remains, Impaled, Through the Eyes of the Dead, Animosity, Ed Gein, The Number 12 Looks Like You, Into The Moat, Reflux, On Broken Wings, From A Second Story Window, Ion Dissonance, Crematorium, Phobia, Light This City, Neuraxis, Job For A Cowboy, Intronaut, Anal blast, All Shall Perish, Winter Solstice, Radiation 4, The Red Death, Embrace The End, Psyopus, Deadsoil, Glass Casket, and many others.
Thy Art Is Murder
Rising from the unhallowed wastes of Western Sydney, extreme metal outfit Thy Art Is Murder have carved a trail of bloody mayhem since their inception in 2006. With an acclaimed EP and debut album in Infinite Death and The Adversary to their name, the band have traversed the highways and autobahns of Australia, the UK and Europe on a relentless crusade to destroy every venue and audience they can with like minded peers in a who's who of heavy metal.

2012 brings a new ritual offering of darkness from the five piece. Simply titled Hate, the band's second full length is the pointed result of Thy Art Is Murder's growing dissatisfaction with all aspects of modern life - political, religious, social and environmental - everyone is to blame. Fusing the blasting technicality of metal luminaries The Black Dahlia Murder with thunderous breakdowns and the intensity born of their nascent hometown scene; the blackened grandeur of Behemoth and the pit churning groove of Tampa originators Morbid Angel and Cannibal Corpse, the furious musical arrangements provide a bloody canvas for vocalist CJ McMahon's outpourings of bile.

No strangers to stoking controversy and criticism, the band have not toned down their art for the sake of palatability and have introduced a morose melodicism into their maelstrom - the rumination before pulling the trigger. With their best work to date ready to be unleashed on an unsuspecting world, Thy Art Is Murder will once again take to the road to unleash the Hate with one simple message - get in the pit or get out of the way.
GOATWHORE
GOATWHORE
Goatwhore is a black/death metal band from the swamps of New Orleans, LA. They were formed by well known musicians from the Louisiana metal scene. They first came together in 1996/97 when Sammy Duet (former Acid Bath/Crowbar guitarist) and Zak Nolan (former drummer of Goatwhore, now replaced by Zack Simmons) jammed together as a little sideproject when Acid Bath was taking a break. They soon made some four track demos. When Acid Bath fell apart in 1997 (due to the loss of bassist Audie Pitre) they dedicated more time to Goatwhore (formerly known as Kilgore). They quickly turned into a 4 piece with the addition of Ben Falgoust and Pat Bruders. In 2004 Goatwhore was offered a deal by Metal Blade Records, who they are signed with now…

"We are timeless … within damnation"

With its 2000 debut, The Eclipse of the Ages Into Black, Louisiana miscreants Goatwhore explored old school satanic black metal as no American act had before. The band's flame-throwing ferocity and blasphemous conviction hailed such pioneers as Bathory and Venom and offered respite to purists grown weary of the fanciful, over-orchestrated musings of Europe's contemporary black metallurgists.

Goatwhore's new second effort, Funeral Dirge for the Rotting Sun, ventures into darker, less conventional territory. Probing the pitch-black recesses of mind and soul in a disturbing, introspective examination of dark forces at work, and unleashing it all with a feral hookiness and atmospheric flare, the band steps beyond the bounds of mere black metal into a realm all its own.

While the band's raw, vicious tone remains - and Falgoust and Duet's high-end, low-end vocal tradeoffs ensure plenty of menace - there's more order to the chaos on Funeral Dirge. The unrelenting tempos and buzz-sawing guitar that fueled Ages have been refined to provide "Vengeance of Demonic Fury" or "Baptized In A Storm Of Swords" with more structure, depth and texture.

Goatwhore takes a rather drastic turn on "As The Sun Turns To Ash" and "Fires of the Judas Blood." With their dramatically slower pace and eerie vocal/guitar interplay, they echo Celtic Frost's ground-breaking Into The Pandemonium and lend an even more ominous air to the album.

After releasing Funeral Dirge for the Rotting Sun in 2003, the band jumped to Metal Blade for 2006's A Haunting Curse, which took on a much clearer blackened death metal style.

2009 saw Goatwhore's latest release, Carving Out The Eyes Of God.
Origin
Origin
On July 4th, 1997, Paul Ryan and Jeremy Turner, acquaintances through mutual friends, had a conversation that would change their lives. Shortly thereafter, the two guitarists/vocalists got together and started jamming with the intent to create a band embodying blistering speed, total brutality, technical proficiency, and the utmost in quality musicianship.

In October, 1997, they convinced long-time friend Clint Appelhanz to put down his guitar, pick up a bass and join them. Coincidentally, Paul was also good friends with vocalist Mark Manning, who possessed an unbelievably monstrous voice of unmatched ferocity. After hearing the damage the existing members had rendered, Mark aligned himself with the nascent group.

In January, 1998, the quartet found drummer George Fluke, who enabled the artists to push the boundaries of their music even further. Finally, after deciding on a moniker that best represented their vision, the unearthly entity known as ORIGIN was created. Four months after formation, ORIGIN landed a high-profile gig opening for SUFFOCATION, and unleashed on the unsuspecting crowd a torrent of unbelievably technical, pulverizing death metal. The band then entered the studio and recorded a four-song, self-financed and self-distributed demo entitled "A Coming Into Existence," which received rave reviews. During the summer Origin played a couple more shows with bands WORMWOOD, DISASSOCIATE, DOWN BY ANGER & THE HEAVILY CREATED.

In October, 1998, Origin secured an opening slot on the Death Across America Tour which included NILE, CRYPTOPSY, OPPRESSOR and GORGUTS. In February, 1999, drummer John Longstreth (ex-ANGEL CORPSE) joined ORIGIN, replacing George Fluke, furthering the thunderous ORIGIN assault. Longstreth also brought with him bassist Doug Williams, previously of CEPHALIC CARNAGE, who would also join ORIGIN, replacing Clint Appelhanz. The revamped lineup immediately began writing new material and injecting more life and vigor into the old material, while playing many shows in Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, New Mexico, Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa and Arkansas. After obtaining the "A Coming Into Existence" demo, Relapse Records quickly welcomed ORIGIN to its family. Referencing everything from ATHIEST to SUFFOCATION, ORIGIN can only be described as a relentless musical war. Exploding forth with the intensity of a second Big Bang, ORIGIN launch cranium-collapsing projectiles of extremely fierce deathgrind, merging technicality with utter brutality.

A devastating live set at the 1999 November To Dismember (Tx.) hinted at the contents of ORIGINs self-titled debut. Their debut delivered a punishing concussion, fusing merciless staccato guitar riffing with a homicidal vocal triumvirate and a rapid-fire percussive attack that shatters the space-time continuum. Menacing tracks such as "Lethal Manipulation (The Bonecrusher Chronicles)," "Vomit You Out," "Mental Torment" and "Inner Reflections" were but a few examples of ORIGIN's extremity.

ORIGIN performed at all the major 2000 U.S. festivals including the Milwaukee Metalfest, March Metal Meltdown (Nj.), November To Dismember (Ca.) and the Midwest Metalfest (Kc.), allowing many newcomers to witness the phenomenon. The buzz on the band quickly grew as word of their uncompromising live performances spread rapidly. ORIGIN was invited to take part in Contaminated 2000 (EXHUMED & CEPHALIC CARNAGE) and the high profile Death Across America 2000 Tour - joining forces with Poland's VADER and labelmates CEPHALIC CARNAGE and DYING FETUS - further annihilating the metal masses. Soon after, ORIGIN embarked on yet another tour, this time alongside mathcore titans CANDIRIA, Canada's CRYPTOPSY and hardcore upstarts POISON THE WELL. Other tours included acts with SKINLESS, IMPALED & VADER plus a headlining tour of their own before beginning work on the next CD. Merciless, enormous and all-encompassing,

ORIGIN delivered a sonic barrage of inhuman proportions with their next album. Introducing two new members James Lee on vocals (ILL-OMEN) & Mike Flores (ONCE LIVING) on bass, the mind-eroding "Informis Infinitas Inhumanitas." was faster, darker, and more complex than anything the death genre has issued to date. "Informis Infinitas Inhumanitas" showcased ORIGIN's otherworldly musicianship while delivering heinous amounts of the band's unique "aggro-tech" extremity. Immediately following the release of "Informis Infinitas Inhumanitas," ORIGIN hit the road as part of the largest metal tour of the summer; with NILE, ARCH ENEMY and HATE ETERNAL. Following the tour Jeremy Turner resigned from the band and Clint Appelhanz returned to do a tour with IMMOLATION, VADER & the BERZERKER followed by another tour with ALL THAT REMAINS, SCAR CULTURE, and CREMATORIUM. Unforeseen problems forced ORIGIN to cancel the tour with NUCLEAR ASSAULT in January 2003 and shortly thereafter John Longstreth resigned from the band. The search was on for a new drummer and luckily enough James King (UNMERCIFUL) was the man to fill the spot.

The band played its first show with the new lineup in September 2003 in Topeka Ks., where the ORIGIN "Portal" video was filmed courtesy of Ryan Caddell and OPTIKULT films. The band then proceeded with a headlining tour in January 2004 with UPHILL BATTLE up and down the West Coast. Summer 2004 saw ORIGIN touring throughout the Midwest, hitting the Milwaukee Metalfest 2004 and The Texas Death & Grindfest with labelmates SOILENT GREEN and KILL THE CLIENT.

In 2005, ORIGIN returned with the absolutely mind-confounding album "Echoes of Decimation", which immediately stunned the metal community and catapulted ORIGIN back amongst extreme music's elite acts. Numerous U.S. tours immediately followed including headlining featured performances at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival and Ohio Deathfest. The band then joined forces for a summer North American tour with MALEVOLENT CREATION and ANIMOSITY blowing the doors off of every venue along the tour trail. The tour for ORIGIN was 52 days long with only 3 shows off due to cancellation. ORIGIN drove through over 30 states, 1 show in Mexico & over 16,000 miles were put on the odometer.

In Spring 2006, James King and Clint Appelhanz left ORIGIN. John Longstreth rejoined to fill the drummer position and the band headed out on a headlining North American tour during the Summer of '06.

In early 2007, ORIGIN embarked on their first ever European tour with labelmates MISERY INDEX and NECROPHAGIST. The band was met with overwhelming praise from new- and old-fans alike as well as press who were all seeing the band's destructive live set for the first time.

In June 2007, Jeremy Turner rejoined ORIGIN, thus re-forming the "Informis Infinitas Inhumanitas" line-up, which is widely considered to be the band's strongest line-up. The band began writing and recording for a new full-length for the remainder of 2007. The resulting brand new album, "Antithesis", was engineered by Rob Rebeck at Chapman Studios and mastered by Scott Hull at Visceral Sound.

"Antithesis" is marked for an April 2008 release date and explodes out of the box at breakneck speed, with guitars and bass shredding wildly behind a beastly 3-vocal attack, slowing only for the virtuosic soloing of emerging guitar heroes Paul Ryan and Jeremy Turner. Faster, heavier, and decidedly more advanced than anyone could have ever envisioned the genre becoming, "Antithesis" is a modern day death metal classic, which proves ORIGIN stand head and shoulders above their peers.

ORIGIN will begin the touring cycle in support of "Antithesis" with a European headlining tour in May along with IMPALED and HOUR PENANCE which will also include a number of European festival appearances. ORIGIN has also been confirmed as one of the headliner's at this year's Central Illinois Metalfest held in July. Much more ORIGIN touring information will be announced soon.

ORIGIN is:

Paul Ryan – guitars / vocals
Jeremy Turner – guitars / vocals

Decrepit Birth
Decrepit Birth
Decrepit Birth was formed in 2001 by Matt Sotelo - guitars, Bill Robinson - vocals, and Derek Boyer – bass. Originally the intention was to play devastating, brutal, technical death metal, mixed with influences from the early 1990's Florida death metal scene. Since Matt and Derek had at one time both played in Southern California band, DEPRECATED, it was easy for the two of them to begin collaborating on material for the first full length Decrepit Birth album "…And Time Begins".

In Fall of 2002, with the help of friend Tim Yeung on session drums, they entered Legion Studios to begin recording. Almost a year later "…And Time Begins" was released on Unique Leader Records, artwork by Dan Seagrave. The album had production issues but still managed to forge a very solid fan base in the death metal scene. The band went through a dry period of playing no shows due to the lack of a drummer. Bassist Derek Boyer got the chance of a lifetime and was offered a full time position with death metal legends SUFFOCATION. That left Decrepit Birth with out a drummer or bassist.

During 2004, bassist Risha Eryavec stepped in and not long after that, drummer KC Howard of ODIOUS MORTEM officially joined the band as well. For the next couple years the new lineup played many shows, fests and one North American tour. In 2007 the band took a break and began writing full time for the new album. They went through some lineup changes and also dealt with personal issues related to a past member. This conflicted the band, and brought about a spiritual overhaul. The result was a change in direction and sound. The new music was becoming influenced by melodic and progressive compositions. The sound was more mature and catchy, while still maintaining the brutality Decrepit Birth is known for.

In Spring of 2007 Decrepit Birth entered Castle Ultimate Studios with engineer Zack Ohren to begin recording for the sophomore album. In January 2008 the highly anticipated album "Diminishing Between Worlds" was released again through Unique Leader Records. During that same month of January, Decrepit Birth embarked upon their biggest tour yet, opening for THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, THREE INCHES OF BLOOD, and HATE ETERNAL. With the addition of a second guitarist, Dan Eggers and bassist, Joel Horner(both of ODIOUS MORTEM) to replace Risha so he could focus on his family and job, the brand new line up played night after night of sold out shows through out the United States. Now with a new album freshly released, Decrepit Birth was able to catch the attention of Nuclear Blast Records, which was a label the band really wanted to work with for years. After negotiations, they happily signed on with Nuclear Blast in Spring of 2008. The band is currently touring in support of the new album and is also writing new music, which can only be described as an "evolved version of what we did on Diminishing Between Worlds".
Within The Ruins
Within The Ruins
"Recognizing the talent and passion of Massachusetts natives, WITHIN THE RUINS, it’s no wonder Victory Records added them to its growing roster. This quintet is armed with a unique take on blending technology and metal together to write music that sets their band apart from the numerous metal bands today. WITHIN THE RUINS have mastered their technique of bringing breakdowns, riffs, tempo and a dash of personality together in order to form one cohesive entity. The development of WITHIN THE RUINS first began in 2002. That was when founding members Joe Cocchi (Guitar) and Drummer (Drums) began taking a more serious approach and started heading out on the road, doing DIY tours from 2006-2009. At that point in time the lineup was comprised of Tim Goergen (Vocals), Mike Beaujean (Bass), and Kyle Marcoux (Guitar), in addition to Cocchi and Drummer. As things progressed for the band, January of 2010 brought change when Jay Van Schelt (Guitar) was brought in to replace Marcoux; this change refueled the band to write their best record to date entitled INVADE." - last.fm
Fallujah
Fallujah
In Early 2007 A group of high school friends (Alex Hofmann, Scott Carstairs, Tommy Logan, Dan Wissinger, And Suliman Arghandiwal) from the east bay first started jamming and writing music. The initial product being both misguided and adolescent, the band played its first show on June 15th 2007 In walnut creek. The First 4 song Demo (which is and forever will be out of print) was released in late june of 2007. The songs "tyrant", "verdict", Schleicher", And "Infidel" were the first tracks to define the bands sound, which at the times was hardcore grind and death metal in the vein of The Acacia Strain, Converge, and Despised Icon.

Later that year the bands parted with their bassist Dan Wissinger due to other commitments and their drummer Tommy Logan as well. Brandon "Brando" Hoberg (ex-Vivisection) Joined on bass and Andrew Baird (ex Someones Lullaby) On drums. The band continued to play shows around the bay area and over time broke out into areas such as the Central Valley, Sacramento, and Central Coast. In Winter 2007 The band recorded their 2nd demo (Which is and forever will be out of print) at TWS studios in Vacaville. The songs "Prophets", "Tyrant", and "100 Years From Now" pushed the band further in the realm of musicianship and well rounded song structure. The songs were released January 2008.

After nearly a year of playing songs from previous recordings, the band had done quite a bit of growing musically and began writing their debut EP which was eventually named "Leper Colony". Prior to recording, the band parted ways with their original singer Suliman for personal reasons and guitar player Alex Hofmann took up vocals and Rob Maramonte (ex-Eviscerated) joined on as a new guitar player. The songs were a huge leap forward on maturity as the band truly defined their own sound blending technical death metal, black metal, and atmosphere while still retaining a heavy and energetic vibe. The band Recorded with Sam Pura of Panda Studios in San Francisco. The Songs were released in January of 2009.

The band expanded its conquered territory and reputation greatly in the months after The Release of "Leper Colony". The band ventured from Chico, Fresno, Bakersfield, and in the summer of 2009 the band embarked on its first legitimate tour with Oakland's Antagony. The band toured California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. The bands came home successful after over 2 weeks of basement shows, parties, and van breakdowns.

Fallujah has since evolved to be one of those most aspiring and respected SF Bay area bands. The band evolved once again both musically and lyrically with songs concerning Satanism, religious fundamentalism, secret societies, nature, and social fallacies. With imagery provided by Artist and Singer Alex Hofmann the band progressed visually as well to a finely tuned machine. In late summer 2009 the band started writing their 2nd EP taking their largest leap forward combining atmospheric and depressive black metal, progressive death metal, and fusion to truly define a unique sound unlike anything else heard in the underground music scene. With the help of mini labels "Grind-house Music" and "Foot & Mouth Records" the EP is to be released worldwide. The band once again evolved in form with the parting of longtime bassist and guitar player Brandon Hoberg and Rob Maramonte due to musical and personal differences. The band took in Anthony Borges(ex-Scourge of Medusa, Valkyrja, and Suffokate) and Danny Farhoud (ex-Scourge of Medusa and Valkyrja). The band will be embarking on a month long US tour with friends Rise of Caligula and plans to release its next album in January 2010.
